The Canadian Australian Chamber of Commerce

 Invites You

To Join Its Trade Mission to Australia

November 15 – 19, 2010

The Canadian Australian Chamber of Commerce (CACC) is organizing a Trade Mission to Australia during the week of November 15 to 19, 2010.  Six priority sectors have been selected:

·          Mining Technology and Services

·          Environment/CleanTech

·          Infrastructure

·          Property Development and Finance

·          ICT

·          Agri-food

If your organization has an interest in any of these sectors, you are encouraged to take advantage of a well-organized, valuable networking opportunity set to make a dynamic entry into the Australian market this autumn.   All forms of business alliances will be welcome from import/export to strategic partnerships to transfers of technology and investment.

Note: While priority sectors have been identified, CACC members from other sectors are also welcome and invited to join.

A key centre-piece to the mission will be its coincidence with a high level Economic Leadership Forum to be held in Sydney from November 16 – 18, 2010.  The conference will be co-chaired by Macquarie Bank’s Canadian Chair, Stanley Hartt, and former New South Wales Premier, Bob Carr.   It will bring together decision makers from the political, business and academic spheres to examine the current economic climate and to develop recommendations for going forward, particularly in regard to third country cooperation involving both Asia and the Americas.  CACC mission members will receive invitations to attend the Forum, and its reception and dinner functions.

The Canadian Australian relationship is strong and growing.  Two way trade annually exceeds four to six billion dollars (including services) and is balanced.  Two way investments, however, has seen dramatic increases in the last few years -- depending on statistical methodologies used, total bilateral investments may exceed $40 billion.

Mission partners include both the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade – the CACC will be working closely with the respective High Commissions in both capitals as well as the Consulates General in Sydney and Toronto and State and Local governments.

Participants will be expected to pay their own expenses but will benefit from CACC lifestyle offers including significant discounts on travel with Air Canada.  Programs of one-on-one meetings with business counterparts will be developed for members by the CACC in cooperation with the Canadian Trade Commissioner in Sydney and Canberra but will also include Australian State Government officials at the ready in Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.  Mission members will be invited to attend the Economic Leadership Forum including its networking opportunities such as opening session, receptions and gala dinner at a special CACC rate of $600 per person.
