Nerella is the owner of Boomerang Consulting Inc., a firm that specializes in International Business Development. She helps businesses grow through successful expansion into foreign markets, by providing services such as market entry strategies, assistance with business partnering and establishing foreign operations, and intercultural business communication. Nerella is an Australian with over 20 years of international experience, having worked in business development and operations management in various countries. She is particularly passionate about promoting Australia as a viable business destination. As one of the core founders, she was a catalyst for the formation of CANZBA in 2001.

John is a partner in the Real Estate Advisory Services Practice of KPMG; a worldwide professional services firm that has offices in major centres of Canada, Australia and New Zealand. KPMG is one of the leading global providers of assurance, tax and legal and financial advisory services. John has been extensively involved in the structuring of investments into Canada from offshore and investments by Canadians in foreign jurisdictions, including the establishment of active businesses as well as investment in real estate. He is a Canadian Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of Business Advisory and Corporate Finance experience. His client base ranges from entrepreneurs to large public multi-nationals. John has been a board member and treasurer of CANZBA since its inception in 2001. 

Tony Crossman

Tony Crossman is an Australian and a partner in the firm’s Vancouver office. Tony grew up in Australia obtaining his law degree and Masters degree there. He practiced law in Australia with a number of law firms (including one of Australia’s national law firms) before moving to Canada. Tony is admitted to practice in 3 jurisdictions in Canada – British Columbia, Nova Scotia and the Yukon Territory. He is a founding member, and is the secretary of the Canada Australia and New Zealand Business Association (Vancouver), based in British Columbia, which aims to foster trade and business between Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Tony has a wide range of legal experience in both litigation and corporate/commercial work. As a lawyer in Canada, he has worked for Australian companies doing business in Canada and for Canadian companies doing business in Australia.

Doug is a Vice President in the Corporate Finance group of Wolrige Mahon LLP, Chartered Accountants. Wolrige Mahon is one of Vancouver’s leading independent accounting firms who pride themselves on holding true to their original vision of providing a full range of high quality services to Canadian entrepreneurs. Wolrige Mahon is affiliated internationally through the Baker Tilly network and has more than 90 professionals delivering a full spectrum of business services including accounting and assurance, taxation, Valuation-litigation support, corporate finance, insolvency and management consulting. Doug is a Chartered  Accountant and New Zealand native and has been resident in Vancouver since January 2005. Doug specializes  in financial management and transaction services and has assisted a number of Australian and New Zealand companies with establishing a presence and acquiring businesses in Canada.

Thomas Christensen is the CEO of Intuto Canada Inc, the north American subsidiary of New Zealand-based Intuto Ltd.
Intuto Canada is an e-learning company focusing on ESL (English as a Second Language) courses. We work with private and public education providers throughout Canada and beyond to bring efficiencies and innovation to the classroom. Thomas has extensive international business development experience gained on three continents. Originally from Denmark he lived nine years in New Zealand before moving to Canada in 2007. Thomas can eloquently explain in three languages why he doesn’t have a degree.

engineering technology contractor in 2002.  She established Goto Sargent with Gordon Goto in 2007.  Goto Sargent

management, commercial management and process improvement services for clients involved in complex
engineering and construction projects.   Meredith has extensive international experience in construction and engineering projects, and is excited about the global reach of Australian, New Zealand and Canadian

Kerry is the Manager for Investor Relations and Finance at B2Gold Corp., a Vancouver based gold producing
company. Kerry is an Australian Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of mining industry experience in
the areas of Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Corporate Finance, Corporate Development and Investor Relations.
Kerry is Australian and moved to Canada following the takeover of AurionGold by Placer Dome. Kerry is a
member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute. She joined the Board of CANZBA in January 2010.

Appointed Honorary Consul in July 1998, Kevin is responsible for managing the Australian Consulate in Vancouver. The Consulate, with a staff of 5, provides a full range of consular services to Australians residing or visiting Western Canada. As Manager, Austrade, Kevin is also responsible for Australia's trade promotion activities in Western Canada. Austrade, with 117 locations in 58 countries, is the Australian Government agency that assists Australian companies win overseas business for their products and services. It also assists overseas companies secure Australian products and services. Kevin was a driving force behind the formation of CANZBA.
